For the past five years I have had the privilege of sitting on the steering committee for the Stadium Stampede. This is a 5K race that benefits the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation. The race itself is a unique experience, as participants race around INVESCO Field at Mile High and finish running through the stadium and projected on the large screen – ThunderVision.
My role as a member of the committee is to plan the event’s Sponsor Appreciation party in the Denver Broncos locker room. Guests enjoyed delicious appetizers and desserts provided by Strings. We were also honored to have Constantina Tomescu speak during the vent. Constantina won the Gold medal for Romania in the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the marathon event. She has also run and won the Stadium Stampede four times.
Fathers’ Day is race day, so come down tomorrow and join in the fun!
