We were asked to design a table for the Mile High Photographers Details Workshop this fall. It was a lot of fun to take our own inspiration and see it become a reality. The backdrop of the red barn at the Botanic Gardens at Chatfield was the perfect setting for this Colorado rustic wedding design.

The concept for Liz and Eric’s Colorado wedding celebration began with a wire bird. The theme blossomed with the design of paper products – two birds perched in the tree of life. Incorporating the groom’s French Canadian heritage with his bride’s American culture, invitations and programs were printed in both English and French. The idea took flight with the creation of three distinct table designs for the Timber Ridge décor. Tables were monochromatic – green, orange, or brown; each incorporating the wire bird, birch bark and accordion vases, and color-coordinated floral, napkins, and chair ties.

Liz and Eric chose Keystone’s Timber Ridge deck with its magnificent mountain view, as the site for their first glimpse of each other and wedding ceremony. The mellow sounds of Mary Keener’s harp provided background music for cocktails. Dinner in the Timber Ridge dining room, was followed by a rocking good time led by the Diamond Orchestra.

Water rushing through Gore Creek was the background acoustic, as Dyann and Dave said their vows on the back lawn of Vail’s Lions Square Lodge. Vail Mountain provided a majestic backdrop for the Colorado wedding. Guests enjoyed cocktails on the patio at Donovan Pavilion. Inside a champagne décor topped with paprika and eggplant accents set an elegant tone for the evening’s events. Stems of orchids immersed in water contrasted with bright mixed floral arrangements on guest tables. A cupcake tower tempted guests to eat more than just one. A photo booth captured the mood.

The groom’s brothers surprised everyone with their toast to the couple – singing an aria composed for their new sister-in-law. Their efforts were rewarded by a standing ovation.

We were recently invited on a two and a half day tour of some beautiful wedding venues in the Colorado mountains as an introduction to Vail Resort’s Iconic Weddings concept. Over the next couple of week’s we’ll share with you some of our favorite spots we visited.

The first Colorado mountain town we visited was Keystone. Located in the heart of Summit County, this ski town is the perfect location for your Colorado wedding, whether summer or winter. It offers a variety of wedding venues, providing couples options when looking for the perfect location for their Colorado destination wedding. Sapphire Celebrations has done many weddings in Keystone and love the variety that it offers couples planning a Colorado mountain wedding.

Keystone Ranch

Experience the extraordinary blend of the Colorado frontier and fine dining in the rustic elegance of this original 1930’s Ranch homestead. Summer ceremonies are orchestrated on the luxurious green lawn overlooking Keystone Ranch Golf Course with spectacular views of Swan Mountain and the Ten Mile Range. Winter ceremonies have a warm, romantic feel in front of the floor to ceiling stone fireplace that was a wedding present to the original owner’s daughter. The Ranch is rated by Zagat Survey, has a AAA four diamond rating and is a winner of Wine Spectators Best of Award of Excellence and the DiRoNa award. The Ranch accommodates up to 180 guests in the summer, 120 guests in the winter.

Ski Tip Lodge

At the Ski Tip Lodge, old world charm is combined with contemporary services and award winning dining in a storybook alpine setting. Reminiscent of a rustic Swiss lodge, the Ski Tip debuted as an 1880’s stagecoach stop and in 1947 became Colorado’s first ski lodge. Summer events have a garden setting on the patio & lawn. In the winter, the Lounge provides a romantic setting for ceremonies in front of a large stone fireplace followed by dinner in the intimate dining room. Ski Tip Lodge accommodates up to 120 guests in the summer, 74 guests in the winter.

Timber Ridge

Located at the top of North Peak, Timber Ridge offers a spacious mountain lodge atmosphere with cathedral ceilings and a two-story fireplace. Ceremonies on its outdoor wooden deck have magnificent views of the Gore and Ten Mile Ranges. Guests will enjoy the breathtaking gondola ride from River Run Village. Timber Ridge is a magical place to exchange your vows and celebrate with loved ones amidst the majestic Rocky Mountains. Timber Ridge accommodates up to 350 guests, summer and winter.

Kelly and Mark’s wedding this summer was more about their becoming husband and wife, they were also committing to each other’s children – creating a family. Incorporating their three children into the wedding ceremony was important to them both.

The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs was the perfect location for the intimate wedding ceremony and reception. Guests were treated to delicious cuisine butler passed and set up in action stations while enjoying the sounds of a jazz trio. Keeping the kids in mind, a special table was set up for them with an activity book, crayons and candy for each.

At the end of the night, guests were sent off with a special treat of milk and cookies.

We are excited to share Pam and Brandon’s wedding video highlights from their June wedding at Mile High Station in Denver. Thanks to Chris at Premium Digital Solutions for capturing their wedding day!

We worked with Jandee and Shane for almost a year and a half planning their Colorado wedding and loved seeing their inspiration becoming a reality on their wedding day!

With family traveling from throughout the United States and abroad, it was important to them that they find a location to host their wedding that highlighted the beauty of Colorado. Rockledge Country Inn in Manitou Springs, Colorado certainly answered that desire! Guests stayed at Bed & Breakfast properties owned by Red Crags and were treated to custom wine favors, specially blended by the bride and groom. The courtyard of Rockledge Country Inn served as the space for the ceremony, dinner and dancing – providing a magical view of Manitou Springs.

Congratulations, Jandee and Shane! We wish you a life filled with love and laughter!
