Romantic Wedding in the Rocky Mountains at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek

Kelsie and Ryley hosted their wedding weekend at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, with most of their guests traveling from out of state to join them! They both have professional event planning experience and were able to plan most of their wedding on their own, including a poolside welcome reception the night before. However, they knew they wanted to be hands-off on their wedding day. So, they entrusted us with their wedding day management!

Month-Of Wedding Coordination

Because of their experience, Kelsie and Ryley were the perfect candidates for our Month-Of Wedding Coordination package. They received the resources of our online planning portal throughout the process so we could keep a watchful eye over their planning. Then, with a month to go until the big day, our team took the reins! From the venue walkthrough to when the last guest departed for the night, we took care of every detail (leaving Kelsie and Ryley to enjoy their wedding day!). And every step of the way, we collaborated with the couple to ensure we executed all their meticulous plans perfectly.

Moving an Outdoor Ceremony at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek

We knew that Kelsie and Ryley made the right call to enlist our help when a storm rolled in between their first look and the outdoor ceremony! The couple, the maid of honor, and the photographer had just taken the gondola to the top of the mountain for some portraits, and the rain began falling as they finished up. To complicate matters, the mountain patrol shut down the gondola while the storm front was moving through—leaving our couple stranded at the top of the mountain for over an hour!

Thankfully, there was cell service on the mountaintop. So, while the bride laid down for a cat nap (seriously, there’s a photo!), our team communicated with the maid of honor to discuss a plan B. Ultimately, our team collaborated with the Park Hyatt team to move the ceremony location and inform the guests of the new plan. It wasn’t long before the gondola reopened, and our couple made their triumphant return! Soon the ceremony site was ready, and we weren’t more than a few minutes behind schedule when the prelude music began.

Dodging a Wedding Dress Disaster

That wasn’t the only snafu we helped this couple overcome! First thing in the morning, we received a frantic call from Kelsie: her dry cleaner had sent her to the venue with a wet dress, promising that it was normal (it’s not) and that it would be dry and perfect by morning (it wasn’t). With assistance from the maid of honor’s mom, a steamer, Shout wipes, and a hair dryer, our team did their best to remove the water stains. In the end, it looked almost perfect. And most importantly, it was impossible to tell in photos!

Note to couples: try on and thoroughly inspect your garments before signing anything from your cleaner or seamstress. Your attire should be spotless when you pick it up—end of story! If it doesn’t look quite right, share your concerns with the vendor. Advocate for yourself, and ensure they make it right before you leave.
